But now let's get to the next entry...
Watching television is my favorite hobby. And I know that there ARE some people out there who think that television is a waste of time and that watching the images projected during primetime feed the public misleading messages about social norms and the dominant paradigm. But I happen to love it! There is nothing like sitting down in front of the television after a long, hard day at work. I often times snuggle up on my futon couch in my most comfortable pair of pajama pants and zone out. I love television so much I secretly desire to be a television writer--producing scripts that touch the hearts of Americans and make the world smile. However, I don't know if I could make a living just writing, but I can dream can't I? Let me give you a day-by-day update on some of my favorite television shows.
Sundays
Ah, Sundays...a great day for television, really.
I usually watch either...The Simpsons, America's funniest family. Or, if I am in the mood for a more dramatic portrayal of a family in America's golden years, I watch "American Dreams." Just love that Meg girl as she deals with civil rights issues, the Vietnam War, and dancing on bandstand in the 1960's.
After the eight o clock hour has past I usually watch Alias. My sister has been a fan of Sydney and Vaughn since the start, but I didn't quite get into this action packed drama until a couple of seasons back. This show is also written by the same man who did Felicity (my all time favorite drama). I then watch another very interesting drama, "Crossing Jordan," which is also my mom's favorite show. It follows quirky Medical Examiners who solve crime--it's the best show you aren't watching, so check it out. I then top off Sunday by falling asleep to the OPB show titled "Globe Trekkers." Showcasing backpackers travels through foreign lands. Some of my favorite locations have been 1) China--my homeland; 2)Western America with the special on Burning Man; 3) Thailand.

Mondays...to be honest I don't watch TV on Monday. I am usually doing homework or watching DVDs of Felicity. I think that the networks should really step it up on this day of the week.

Tuesday...perhaps the best night of tv! For Tuesday is the home of American Idol and 24. I never thought of FOX as a powerhouse for TV programming, but I must admit that I watch a lot of FOX shows. American Idol is a cheesey, yet exciting contest that showcases the talents of young Americans. Of course there is the annoying commentary from the judges, but I find the actual performers themselves to be rather interesting and talented. Then comes 24, the high speed, stress headache inducing adventures of Jack Bauer, Kim, Chase, Michelle, Tony Almayda and the rest of CTU as they try to rid the world of terrorism. Kiefer Sutherlund is so underrated as an actor and as a man. I love ya, dude!

Wednesday...California...California...here we come...
The OC is the best show on television today. Mixing pop culture, soap opera story lines, interesting characters and an Orange County backdrop, Ryan and the rest of the residents of the OC deal with issues like 1) having your grandpa marry your friend's mom; 2) having your ex-boyfriend sleep with your mom; 3) having your boyfriend impregnate his ex girlfriend; 4) going to Rooney concerts...well I can go on forever about this show. But I'll just wait until next season.

Thursday...Must see tv...
Well, after "Friends" ended it's 10 year run, I am not sure what I am going to watch on Thursdays. Perhaps...um...what's even on Thursday besides NBC shows? Oh well...just wait for the mid-season replacements.

Friday and Saturday...I don't have a favorite show on the weekends, I watch a lot of OPB shows like Nova or documentaries. But when I have time I do check in with Tina Fey and the rest of the Saturday Night Live cast.

And all this tv and I don't even have cable. I was once toying with the idea of subscribing to cable, but they may lead to me quitting my job JUST to watch tv. And that isn't good.
